Our Time Under God is Now

Who We Are

Black Methodists for Church Renewal(BMCR) is the organized Black caucus of the United Methodist Church. We are one of the United Methodist denomination’s five U.S.-based ethnic caucuses. BMCR represents and is dedicated to more than 2,400 Black United Methodist congregations and approximately 500,000 African American members across the denomination.

  • About Us

We are an ethnic caucus within the United Methodist Church. Helping our Church become a true reflection of Christ's love is our main goal.

  • Membership

You have the opportunity to join our work. We have several membership options that range from individual to full church options. Click this link for more information.

  • Start A Caucus

Do you have an issue surrounding the inclusion and equity of black people in your Annual Conference? Start a caucus to advocate for those needs.

  • Resources

We want our members and churches to be fully equipped to be vital in the life of their community and the UMC. We have compiled a list of resources to help.
